UPDATE #1: Our campaign to save the Porter compressed air locomotive!
The Volunteers, Staff and Executive team at the Toronto Railway Museum would like to offer an enormous THANK YOU to Greg and Laurie McCulloch ( see www.mccullochmovers.ca ) for their generous donation-in-kind of their services and expertise to move the Porter locomotive to the Museum.
The value of this gift has been added to our fundraising total that now stands at $7,355.
All additional funds raised will now go to immediate stabilization of the locomotive followed by assessment as to the feasibility of restoring it to service. In the images below, you will find us building a length of narrow gauge track on our standard gauge flatcar to accommodate the Porter locomotive.
